News From the Course – 19 August

Keno Playoff

Jamberoo pair Ian Unsworth and Geoff Reynolds were very close to winning the district playoff for the Keno Fourball only losing by 1 point from the winners from the Wollongong Golf Club. The difference was on the 18th green. Bad luck, so close to winning the all-expenses paid weekend at the Bonville Golf Resort representing the Illawarra. Better luck next year.

Annual General Meeting

A reminder that the Annual General Meeting of the Jamberoo Golf Club Ltd will be held this Wednesday night at 7 pm at the club. At this time the annual report will be presented to members with the club’s auditor in attendance to answer any questions. As the number of nominations for directorship of the new Board of Directors does not exceed the number of positions available no election has been necessary. The new Board of Directors will be announced at the AGM.

Mixed Foursomes Championships

The Mixed Foursomes will be played tomorrow over 27 holes. Prizes for both gross and nett winners will be awarded at the conclusion of the event. Good luck and play well. I hope the westerly wind abates for the day!

This Week’s Results

The wind has been howling and I am afraid to say that several members are feeling the pressure of playing in the wind as there has been many last minute cancelations. Others are enjoying the challenge and some very impressive scores have been returned with Gordon Dill scoring a massive 44 points today and Tony McRae scoring 41. You see, it is not impossible to play well in the wind.
