Annual General Meeting
The AGM of Jamberoo Golf Club Ltd will be held in the clubrooms on Wednesday 23rd of August commencing at 7pm.
A signed short version of the Annual Financial Report can be found on the club web page under the ‘More’ tab/ then ‘Notices and Downloads’.
Members wanting a full copy can obtain one from the club office from Monday.
Mixed Open
A good sized field of 36 competed for the Jamberoo Mixed Open trophy last Sunday. The Mixed Open trophy is the eldest of all of our Open Competitions and Championships and was first played in 1981.
Defending title-holders, Juanita and Andrew Robb from Glenmore Heritage Golf Club, were again successful after shooting a gross score of 80. As predicted it was a close run thing with the runners up, Debbie and John Byrnes, from Port Kembla GC scoring 81, and with Lorraine and Barry Shoobridge scoring 82, Steve and Robyn Wicks scoring 83.
The Nett title was decisively won by Louise Stoddart and Paul Henderson with a nett score of 67.875 with runners up Marian and Warren Fraser scoring 70.125.
A fine luncheon was prepared thanks to Rose Sheath and Sandra Gentle with a little help with cooking by Ray Orr, and enjoyed and appreciated by all.
It was great to see so many ex-Jamberoo members return to their spiritual home to play in the Open. We hope to see you again in the near future.
Lady Veteran’s Open Day
By all reports, a great day was had by all, with an excellent luncheon served after the day’s golf.
Well done Lorraine Cram and the Lady Veteran’s committee for putting on this great club day.
Monthly Medal BBQ

As you will undoubtedly know Margaret Stephens is no longer available to run the club monthly BBQ. The club wishes to thank Margaret for her years of dedicated service in running the BBQ and look forward to her continued work and inspiration around the gardens of the course.
Ebb and Tide
John Ellsmore was overheard saying that the worst possible thing happened to him on the course today. Somebody inquired if he had been hit by a ball, somebody else asked if he had lost the ticket. “No”, John said. Apparently his golf buggy decided to take a swim on the 7th hole today while he was putting. Everything got wet as the bag turned in the buggy and emptied itself in the drink. What’s worse, he missed the putt as well!
Upcoming Events
The Men’s fourball matchplay and single matchplay championships continue. Please be flexible with the dates of playing the matches as it is quite difficult in freeing up space on weekends with social bookings and important club events being played.
Sunday August 13 sees the playing of the Mens’ Keno Fourball with the Illawarra final at Jamberoo on this day. Any team can enter with the only restriction being that you both come from the same club.
The draw will be completed early next week by the Golf Illawarra captain and will be published on the Golf Illawarra website.
Sunday August 20 is the Mixed Foursomes Championship over 27 holes. The time sheet is available at the golf shop.
