C Pennant to play their last preliminary match
The C Pennant are at home tomorrow and play The Grange to see who comes first or second in their division. The winner gets to play St George’s Basin and the loser the Links Shell Cove in next weekend’s semi-finals at Moss Vale.
Meanwhile our other three teams are in all in practice mode as they prepare for their semi-finals next weekend with most of the B Pennant and White Horse Cup teams on the course today.
The pre-match ‘gee-ups’ have already started for the White Horse Cup semi-final between the two Jamberoo teams. Today I heard a rendition of the Cowpat victory song by an experienced cowpat as ‘A team’ captain Chris Goodwin played the fourth hole for instance. Chris was so confused by the lyrics that he put his putter in the hole and the flag in his bag.
It should be a close and exciting match!
Danger on the Course
Club captain Dave Ransom was almost killed today on the course while playing the 16th hole. Parking the cart just to the right and behind of his playing partner Steve, a shank went right past his nose through the cart deflecting off the steering wheel and out the other side.
Dave reports all is well despite a bad case of the shakes. “Be aware”, he often says, “of where you are”. Time to take some of his own advice.
White Duck Day and the March Monthly Medal
Don’t forget that next Saturday the postponed March monthly medal will be played at your club.
Also don’t forget to put your name down to play in the White Duck Charity Golf Day on Thursday 23rd of March. The booking sheet is available in the golf shop.
We are supporting Juvenile Diabetes Research and it should be a fun day at your club.
This Week’s Results
It was great to see the rain abate and the members out playing golf again. Many members have commented to me of how well the course has recovered and the great condition the course is presently in. This comes down to the dedication of the greens staff who have worked tirelessly to have the course in its present condition despite the horrible, wet weather we have suffered.
It was good to see so many members out playing in Saturday’s One Grade day. The winner was Keith Hales with Phil Hahn clearing up most of the nearest the pins, drive and pitches and super shot. Talking about clearing up, Lisa Bell did that on Tuesday with a great performance in the Ladies Monthly Medal.

Good luck to all our pennants players….You are doing our club proud…
Steve was lucky it was you and not Mick that got in the way of his ball. He should take his game to Oaks Automotive for a tune up.
Good one Tony but I was after the persistent fly the capt. had on his nose.
