Enter the Lexus Golf Link Cup and win a shiny new car

Win this car (driver not included) and other golf prizes just by registering and playing in the regular Jamberoo competitions
JAMBEROO CLUB GOLFERS sick of watching professionals tee it up with the chance of winning a shiny new car can now get their own back.

More than 25,000 Australian club golfers have already signed up to a unique new three month “virtual” golf tournament with the ultimate top prize an $80,000 Lexus GS 250 luxury sedan.

The competition is free to enter and couldn’t be easier with golfers just needing to play a minimum of six rounds in their regular golf club competitions over the next three months – Golf Link will take care of all the details.

The Lexus Golf Link Cup is open to players of all ages and abilities with regular weekly prizes for A, B and C Graders from the likes of Callaway Golf, Go Golfing and others.

Registration is now open and available to any Australian golfer with a recognised club handicap (Golf Link card).

All participants who register and play the minimum six rounds over the course of the competition will be entered into the draw to win the Lexus.

The world-first competition is being run between July 10 and October 9, 2012 and will culminate in a national final at Royal Melbourne Golf Club on November 5. The best six individual rounds from each player over the course of the three-month competition period will be tallied against golfers from across Australia.

The eight best players as determined by their ranking across grade and gender – two each from A, B and C grades and two women golfers – will advance to the national final. Those who make the November 5 final will also be guests of Lexus at its VIP Lexus Lounge in the Birdcage at Flemington Racecourse for the Melbourne Cup on November 6.

Lexus GS Ambassador, former Rugby World Cup-winning Wallaby captain and keen golfer John Eales (pictured) is encouraging all amateur golfers to sign up and take part.

“This is a fantastic initiative for club golfers all around Australia, no matter their skill level, to be part of a unique competition while being in the running to take home a superb Lexus GS 250 Luxury,” Eales said.

“I’m looking forward to following the competition and seeing who finishes on top.”

Golf Link CEO Craig Connelly is confident the competition will have widespread appeal.

“We believe this has the capability of being the world’s largest golf tournament in terms of participants and we really hope Australian golf club members will be excited to be a part of it,” Mr Connelly said.

“We see no reason why every Australian club golfer wouldn’t sign up and then take great interest in where they stand on the leaderboard compared with friends, fellow members and golfers from across Australia.

“There are financial incentives for clubs to promote the Lexus Golf Link Cup to their members so we’re really confident that this is a concept that will be embraced by everyone involved with Australian golf clubs.

“This is a tournament that potentially every club golfer can be a part of and brings a whole new dimension to Australian club competitions,” Mr Connelly added.

Golfers can register by visiting the Golf Link website.
