Tony Panecasio has won the Individual Matchplay title for 2016 after his win today in the final against Johnny Bermudez.
Tony’s win continues the trend for A Grade players winning this title despite it being a handicap matchplay event showing that everybody has an equal chance of winning this important club event.
Johnny started well winning the first two holes and it looked as if he would continue his great run against A grade opponents. The experienced Tony however found something special completing the next 13 holes in only 1 over par to win 5/3 on the 15th hole.
Congratulations to both players on their outstanding effort in making the final and well played to Tony on his win despite having to give his opponent 11 shots.

Upcoming Special Golf Days
This Thursday sees the playing of the Lady Veterans Open day after it was postponed by bad weather earlier this year. The format is a 3 person countdown with a shotgun start from 8 am. A luncheon will be provided at the conclusion. For further details or late entries please see Lorraine Cram.
On Tuesday 18th the Camp Quality Charity day will be held at the club. It is a two-person Ambrose. Please contact Judi O’Brien for further details. Entries can still be made in the golf shop.
