Anzac Day competition at Jamberoo

With the approach of Anzac Day we take time to contemplate the significance of the day and its continued relevance to contemporary Australian life. It is the day on which we remember all Australians who served and died in war and on operational service. The spirit of Anzac, with its qualities of courage, mateship, and sacrifice, continues to have meaning and relevance for our sense of national identity. Lest We Forget.

After the dawn service Jamberoo Golf Club will be running a stableford competition. It is a walk-up-start so come along and get involved.

Bridge across Hyam’s Creek update

The bridge is in place and the final stages of its redevelopment nears. This involves the creation of ramps and rails and decking. All credit goes to Paul Rodgers and his team of volunteers for the great job.

Jim Butt’s shed has also had a facelift with a new paint job thanks to the efforts of Arthur Bosanquet and Carl Edlinger.

Golf NSW Mens Fourball club qualifying round

In conjunction with the 4BBB stableford competition on Saturday 30th of April the club qualifying round of the GolfNSW mens fourball competition will be held. Depending on entries the top three pairs will progress to the Illawarra finals to be held at Moss Vale Golf Club on the 14th of August. Win this and your team is off to the Bonville Golf Resort for the 2 day, all expenses paid state final.

Those members wishing to qualify should inform the starter who will place a large, highlighted “Q” on your card. There will be a $5 surcharge per player if you wish to enter. This entry fee is set by GolfNSW and not the club.

Our club round will be a 4BBB stableford (ie in pairs) using normal handicapping procedures. Later rounds will be in  4BBB Par format with handicaps based on your lower anchor point rather than your GA handicap.

White Duck Charity Day

With final counting almost complete $3900 has been raised for Prostate Cancer research in this year’s charity day. Congratulations to Rose Sheath and her organising committee and to our sponsors and participants on the day.
