Congratulations to Pete Munro on his excellent opening 73 in the 1st round of the Club Championships. This gives Pete a 1 shot lead over Steve Rippon and Paul Hazeltine in A Grade. Andrew Craddock, Scott Hainsworth and Ken Bradley also fired good rounds of 77 to be close. Ray Orr’s 78 and Adrian Gehrmann’s 79 were the next best.
In B Grade, Con Kiayias fired a sensational 78 to take a 2 shot lead over Tom Zimmermann. Rodney Hourn and Chris Leckey were next best with 84’s.
In C Grade, Alvin Ray, Phil Adams and Michael Burton all scored 89 to be equal leaders by 1 from Bob Small, with Lance Fredericks and Paul Rodgers next best with 91. John Ellsmore with 92 is in the middle of the action as well.
In D Grade, Allen Clark has opened with a 98 to take a 5 shot lead over John Hinks with Les Farkas a further shot back on 104.
The Championships resume next Saturday and it remains to be seen if somebody from the chasing packs can make a charge at the leaders. Best of luck to all.
