Jamberoo Members at the Australian Open

A NUMBER of Jamberoo Golf Club members have been spotted out and about recently, particularly at the recent Australian Open at the Australian Golf Club in Sydney.

Members were seen volunteering as marshals, spectating and performing other duties … but unfortunately not many appeared to be playing.

Jamberoo member Peter Young was just about in charge of the whole event and is seen here on the 5th hole admonishing Adam Scott to tee off as quietly as possible so spectators could go about their business uninterrupted.

Some ne'er-do-well convinced Les Hannigan the poor young lady he is about to harass here is the new Mrs Adam Scott. The young lady in question did follow the Scott/Spieth group for the first two days of the tournament, supposedly confirming his advice … but then switched to Jordan Spieth’s groups on the weekend. That’s mainly because she’s the new Mrs Jordan Spieth’s caddie. The big question is, on a hot summer’s day in Sydney what the hell are the fingerless glove looking things Les is wearing on his hands? — Some ne’er-do-well (his wife) convinced Les Hannigan the poor young lady he is about to harass here is the new Mrs Adam Scott. Ken Brown was also working at the Open as a volunteer. It’s probably only appropriate that a Royal Jamberoo member should get his hands on the famous Claret Jug (though obviously here not due to any particular golfing prowess). Brian O’Hare, who runs the Australian Senior Golfer website, was at the Australian Golf Writers Association annual dinner the Saturday night of the Australian Open, which as a qualifying event for the British Open, was hosting some R&A officials as well as the prestigious trophy. — It’s probably only appropriate that a Royal Jamberoo member should get his hands on the famous Claret Jug (though obviously here not due to any particular golfing prowess).
