Trevor Bell Memorial Shield Final Round

The final round of the Trevor Bell Memorial Shield was held at The Grange on Monday 30/10/2023.

The Jamberoo Vets (The Bearded Dragons) had the difficult task to make up 14 points in the final round to claim victory and true to their namesake they took up the challenge and were claiming their territory upon arrival at The Grange.

Lance had calculated that Jamberoo needed 34 points or better from each player to mount a challenge and the Roo soon let Port Kembla know this was not going to be a practice choir session singing Hallelujah.

In the closest final round ever recorded for the TBS Shield the Roo had our tails in front until the last player from Port came in with a 41 on the day ensuring a 3 point victory.

Lance’s team briefing early in the week had made the Dragons aggressive, even Peter Francis was the first to arrive and the energiser bunny Kenny Holt was driving the ball PGA distances.

Lance’s shrewd selections throughout the season ensured all Dragons participated. The team at The Grange were Larry Kent, Mal Hoy, Ron Chilby, Ken Holt, Peter Francis, Chris Leckey, Rod McLean, and Peter Hackett.

Fantastic Effort Dragons you did all Jamberoo Vets very proud.
