VETERANS NEWS.
The third round of the Veterans inter club Trevor Bell Memorial Shield competition was held at Jamberoo on Thursday 8 June. Scoring was tough across the board but the Jamberoo team scored best on the day with their best six scores totalling 197 points. This brought Jamberoo within one point of the competition leaders Links Shell Cove.
In the individual competition, Peter Francis (38 pts) was 2nd on a countback and Ken Holt in 4th place with 35 pts. Peter Young was in a group scoring 34 points.
The competition was played in fine and slightly windy conditions with the course looking in top condition. The Jamberoo team for the day comprised Ian Unsworth, Ron Chilby, Mal Hoy, Peter Francis, Alan Jones, Ken Holt, Peter Young and Don Thompson.
The next round is at Port Kembla on 12 July.
