Course Open for Play

Friday 28 October, 1pm

The good news is that the course has been re-opened for play ( from Saturday) with carts available for member use.

The mode of play is “optional tee up through the green” but I have been informed that the currently blowing wind is drying out the course remarkably.

Regretably the Foursomes on Saturday and the Mens Open on Sunday remain postponed to a date to determined.

On Saturday a medley stableford will be played.

While playing check out the apparently permanent new ‘water feature’ on the 12th.

  1. UNFORTUNATLEY the clubs website said course was open today and we boooked on line which was accepted …after my friend Sandy Carter drove from Berry looking forward to playing she discovered the course was closed, this has happen to us 2 time now ,not so far for me travelling from Kiama..I feel there needs someone to update the website asap,to avoid these missunderstandings…we have paid our membership for another year and have only played once ,very disappointed

    1. We apologise Lorna and Sandy for the inconvenience you suffered today. These are difficult times at the moment with the constantly changing weather and multiple flooding of the course. The latest flooding was just last week and the course was completely inundated again for the 6th time this year. This is unprecendented. In my 22 odd years as a member I have only experienced flooding 10 times so to have 6 in a year is extremely hard to deal with. Golf is a sport played outside so we are left to the vagarities of the weather unfortunately. I believe that many local clubs are also suffering including the two closest to Nowra.
I myself have played only a handful of rounds this year but still volunteer much of my time to the members doing my best to keep everybody informed. You might have noted that the web-master (who lives OS) has just changed the location of our site which has caused me great trouble today as he failed to give me access and I have had to rely on direct Facebook entries using my phone. I apologise for omitting the phrase ‘from Saturday’.
Jamberoo Golf Club is run by volunteers, like myself, as is its website, which I monitor as well as writing the articles for the ‘daily cow’.

Lets all pray for an easing of the current weather conditions and the chance to play more golf.
