Player Results:

Adrian Bell 5&4 WIN

Paul Hazeltine 2&1 LOSS

Tom Persson 6&5 WIN

Jarryd Buckley 4&3 WIN

Peter Munro 1up WIN

Pete Munro – Found himself down early and in a see sawing match sank some critical putts and eventually wore down his opponent to come away with a tense 1up win – great effort.

Jarryd Buckley – Got off to a lightning start and soon found himself 2 up but level at the turn. He then played some very solid golf to run away with the match 4&3 – great effort.

Tom Persson – Got off to a fast start and found himself 3 up at the turn and continued on to take his match 6&5.

Paul Hazeltine – Played a very tight match with no quarter given but unfortunately was unable to hold off his opponent, going down 2&1 in a quality match (this was Paul’s 1st loss in a great Pennants season)

Adrain Bell – Scrambled fantastically well early to keep his opponent at bay before finding his feet and then applying the blow torch to take his match 5&4 ( Adrian was the only player to go through undefeated having beaten every other sides No. 1’s – incredible effort)

Again thanks to Lance Fredericks, Ray Orr and Matt Bell for their presence and support and the Team certainly appreciated the support of Patrick Paris out on the course today, much appreciated Patrick, Thankyou.

Great Win!

Tom Persson

WHITE HORSE CUP

Round 6  Played at Port Kemble v Sussex Inlet

What a difference a day or a week makes.

The heroes of Russell Vale the previous week, Steve Rippon and Wayne Griffiths were heroes again in the monthly medal on Saturday – Rippon posting a 66 off the beater for 62 net to win the A grade Medal with Griffo scoring a 66 net to be runner up in A grade.

But I guess all good things must come to an end and both of the stars walked off Port Kembla after the 13th hole, 7 down 5 to play, having been thoroughly trounced by their ruthless Sussex Inlet opponents who showed no mercy and no regard for our blokes’ fearsome reputations.  Sussex Inlet 2 Jamberoo  0.

Next to go was Tony McRae who soldiered on after his injury to lose at the 18th 2 down but his Sussex opponent was better able to cope with the stiff southerly being a big solid bloke of about 110 kg – it was reported that Tony was seen hanging onto a tree to prevent being blown back towards the clubhouse!

The “Big Fella” Andrew Craddock withstood a determined comeback from the Sussex Inlet no3 to post a good win 2up and cemented his place at Shellcove Links next week. Sussex Inlet 3 Jamberoo 1

Skipper Carr’s duty was to avoid a 4-1 drubbing but 4 down with 6 to play this seemed a forlorn fantasy.  However with the aid of his opponent’s water finding shots, scores were level playing the 18th. Carr’s putt for a win hung over the lip for a half at the last hole. Match all square. Sussex Inlet 3.5 Jamberoo 1.5.

Rounds 7 and 8 at the Links Shell Cove and Moss Vale will round the season out.  There’s always next year.
