2019 Jamberoo Open Report
A field of 86 contested the Elders Real Estate Jamberoo Open with many of the Illawarra’s best players entered.
This was the eleventh round of the ‘The Advanced Truck Repair and Auto Care’ Illawarra Open Series and the players were met by mild conditions with a fresh breeze making conditions difficult.
The winner with a fine round of even par 67 was Darcy Boyd from Stone Cutters Ridge GC. The Links Shell Cove’s Colin Mitchell kept his good record at Jamberoo going to take out the runner-up spot with a round of 70.
The overall nett section was won by Morgan Ellson from Kiama Golf Club with a nett score of 69. Jamberoo’s Ken Bradley was runner up with a nett score of 70 on a countback.
Division 1 gross was won by Mollymook’s Blake Hollick with 76 and division 1 nett by Anthony Smith from Jamberoo with 71 on a countback.
Division 2 gross was won by Jamberoo’s Gary Harvey with 82 on a countback. The division 2 nett winner was Kane Graham from the Links Shell Cove GC with 70.
The ‘Super Shot’ on the 7th hole was won by Ken Bradley with 353cm and the nearest the pins on the ninth hole were won by Patrik Ylen (WGC) 404 cm and Paul Henderson (JGC) 323 cm.
The ‘Monster’ drives were indeed monstrous with Wollongong’s Adam Snare smashing his ball 310 metres on the 14th and Jamberoo’s Lachlan Young hitting his 245 metres to win Division 2.
