Ambrose Championship – Rules and Prize structure.

This Saturday at the club we are playing a new event, the Open Ambrose Championship.

Event Rules

The Jamberoo Golf Club Match Committee will control the competition and all of its decisions are final.

On each score card a copy of the following rules will be attached.

—————————————————————————————————————————————

The Jamberoo Open Ambrose Championship is a four-person, elimination format Ambrose.

  • Cost $80 per team ($20 per player) – no extra visitor fee.
  • All team members tee off each hole
  • Team chooses the shot they are going to use as they proceed to their balls
  • The golfer whose shot is taken is eliminated from participating in the next shot. The others must play their shots from within 30 cm of the chosen ball and must be played from the same part of the course: rough, fairway, bunker or penalty area, placing their ball on the fairway, and dropping it otherwise.
  • A player is only eliminated for the one shot following his selected shot
  • This process continues up until the ball is on the putting green, and then all four players have the opportunity to sink the putt. Putts should be placed and taken from within 15 cm of the selected ball not nearer the hole.
  • All four players tee off the next hole and the elimination process begins again, until ball is placed on the putting green
  • Each team member’s tee shot must be used at least three (3) times per round and marked clearly on the score card.
  • The eliminated player cannot take a practice shot during the time they are eliminated
  • Handicap is 1/8th of combined handicap. Two teams per tee time.
  • Play ‘ready golf’. Do not lose your relative place in the field.
