News from the Course 30 September

Steve Rippon. In doubt for the club Championships?

Club Championships

The excitement is growing by the day with the Men’s Club Championship set to commence next Saturday. The big question in A grade is, will Steve Rippon be able to manage the 72 holes with his injury? He has been spotted playing on the course, hitting his putter from the tees!

The other grades are too hard to pick with a plethora of players in with a chance.

Play well everyone and enjoy the club’s major event.

Thanks go to Drummond Golf at Shellharbour for their continued support of our championships.

Hole in one on the 2nd

It has been reported to me that Gary Eagleton scored a one on the second last week. Unfortunately his shot went into a Footgolf hole. At least he got a free drop!

New Comp Fees

The levy finishes today and the club would like to thank all players who contributed to the fund. With the club championship starting next Saturday it has been decided to keep the comp fees at $16 to help pay for the additional cost of prizes.

Outstanding Ball Credits and Trophy Account Balances

Members please note that the moratorium on using your ball credits for obtaining vouchers for purchases at local businesses has finished. You can now use them for obtaining balls or goods from our golf shop as before.

Also any visitor trophy account money must be used within 3 months or be returned to the club and any member trophy money over 18 month’s old will also be returned to the club. If you are not sure of your balances then please ask at the shop or office.

Walk up start this Monday.

Celebrate or commiserate your team’s performance in the Grand Final with a game of golf on Monday. It is a walk up start with the first tee time at 6.30 and the last at 8.41. The event is a medley stableford.

This Week’s Results

The course is very dry with plenty of run on the fairways making it very hard to control your ball. So dry that preferred lies on fairways have been introduced to the course for the first time in many years. The westerly wind is still blowing upping the ante on those days when it is strong.

Despite this some great rounds have been recorded with Don Thompson managing a great 43 points on Wednesday Al Thrower 41,Geoff Chard 42 and Chris Goodwin 40.
