DESPITE what was published in the Mercury on 5th of November, the following members are to be congratulated for winning the very prestigious Jamberoo Golf Club Gold Medals for 2012.
In A grade, Peter Francis, with a net 69, held off strong challenges from Lew Dare and Tom Persson by one shot.
B Grade saw a very close encounter between Rod Hodkinson and Errol Stubbs who both finished with net 66. Congratulations to both for excellent rounds under tough conditions. A count back was required. Unfortunately there can only be one winner with Errol winning by 0.5 of a shot net over the back nine.
In C Grade Bob Weir continued with his excellent recent form and recorded a net 63 to win the gold medal by 3 shots from Mick Bartlett.
Congratulations to all the monthly medal winners throughout the year who earned qualifications to play off for the gold medal. This is an achievement in its own right.
The rest of us can only woe the missed opportunities and hope that next year the fates may smile on us.
