It was great to have the course back in shape and many thanks must go to our dedicated greens staff on their marvelous efforts in achieving such a quick recovery. The next thing you will see is the removal of the flood debris which has been delayed because of the inability to have heavy trucks drive on the soft course.
The Kikuyu grass has been sprayed and the couch in the greens will receive similar treatment next week. Following this the greens are set to be cored and top-dressed in early May.
Programme Alterations
The Johnny Warren Golf Classic charity day will be held on Thursday May 18. This means that Tuesday May 16 becomes a ladies Canadian Foursomes and the Ladies Club Championship over 54 holes will commence on Tuesday May 23, continue on Thursday May 25 and conclude on Tuesday May 30.
The White Duck Charity Day will also now be played on June 22.
Ball Credits
Members are advised that all ball credits must be used by June 30. You can take them as balls, or as credits to make purchases in the shop. Please check your ball account, and while you are at it, your trophy account as well. These can be found on the members kiosk on the computers in the golf shop or club room. If you have trouble doing this then ask a friendly Jamberoo staff member to help.
Path Levy
We have started collecting the $1 levy for competition rounds with the first project hopefully scheduled for the end of July.
This Week’s Results
With the fair weather Jamberoo members have come out to play with field sizes showing an encouraging positive trend. I am also pleased to say that we have finally played the March Monthly Medal. The winners on the day were Scott Hainsworth (aka the golden cowpat) in A Grade, Geoff Reynolds in B Grade, after a great birdie on the 16th, Terry Murphy in C Grade and the ever present Michael Sheridan in D Grade. Cheryl Legge was the Ladies winner.
A very enjoyable day was had by all in the Lady Vets Open Day last Thursday. The Casey’s had the largest smiles!
Hope to see you all on the course next week.
