Course Dry-up Continues

Club Graphic

The course has naturally been very damp in places following the weeks of rain and the inundation we suffered. The greens staff have been working tirelessly bringing the course back into playable condition cutting the grass daily, firstly with the rough slasher and now with the fairway mowers. A couple of holes are still causing concern, notably the 2nd, 9th, 16th and 17th but a noticeable improvement has been seen even with these holes.

The good news is that the greens appear to be in good condition and the couple of days of warm weather has helped immensely dry out the course. With further good weather carts should be available early next week.

I thank the members for their patience during this time and also congratulate those members who have played in our comps despite the obvious poor conditions.

There have been a few programme changes brought on by the course conditions, notably the Ladies Jamberoo Open which will now be played on Tuesday May 9, and the Lady Vets ‘Male and Female’ Open Day which will now be played on Thursday April 20.

  1. Mowers should not be anywhere near the course.Look at the damage on the 5th fairway.
