Camp Quality Charity Golf Day 2012
JAMBEROO ladies held their Annual Camp Quality Charity Golf Day on Tuesday 18th September 2012 with a field of 68 ladies and 44 men – a total 112 players.
The game was Canadian Foursomes with plenty of novelty events during the game. The weather was perfect and everyone enjoyed a BBQ lunch. The Jamberoo lady golfers supplied their famous slices and cakes and asked for a gold coin donation for Camp Quality.
The raffle was a great fundraiser. First prize, a GPS Watch donated by a Jamberoo golfing couple was won by a Jamberoo lady golfer. She was very excited to win such a valuable prize and said it will help her golf. Thanks to our many generous sponsors for their donations for the raffle and golf prizes. Winners went to 12 pairs for men and 15 for ladies. The Novelty events of Nearest the Pins, Straightest Drives, Longest Drives, and Supershots were ten for men and ten for women.
Jamberoo Ladies have built up a proud tradition of running this event for 20 years, and thank everyone for their generous donations. Many thanks to everyone who helped make this day a big success.
Mrs Ann Tanks, Manager of Camp Quality was present to thank everyone for their generous support and received our cheque for $3,977.00.

Annual Tee Off for Breast Cancer Day raises $1600
JAMBEROO LADY GOLFERS held their Annual Tee Off for Breast Cancer Day on the 17th July in perfect weather.
A field of 98 women played including visitors from eleven golf clubs, all wearing pink.
John Keeling our Starter for Tuesdays got into the spirit. He wore pink and decorated the golf carts and golf shop and surrounds. John also donated pink scarfs he purchased from the McGrath Foundation.
John Duncan, Course Superintendent and staff once again painted the Breast Cancer Logo’s of pink lady and ribbons on various parts of the course, including a straight pink line all the way down the 6th, and placed our pink flags on18 greens.
Lunch was available in the Jamberoo Bowling club Bistro. Mario generously allowed our Jamberoo ladies to supply their famous home-made slices and cakes, and ask for a gold coin donation towards the Charity day.
First prize in the raffle was a PINK golf bag, followed by a stack of prizes donated by lady members.
We also thank our lady members who donated over 50 trophies for the competition winners.
The Event raised $1596 to go directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Lady Golf President Shirley Walsh and Captain Marie Farrant were extremely pleased with the day and thank all the Jamberoo golf members for their help and generosity in making the day a success.

Day 1
Perfect weather greeted the players. Crows busy all day. There was a favourite sand iron bent beyond use—that dam tree on the 4th and a check of rules to see if one could be borrowed from the shop. The answer was yes, as Kay Brennan continued new club in hand, which from all accounts she liked. Marilyn Wright, Margaret Cook and Margaret Potter were the stars of the day, beating the fast greens and tricky pin placements.
Day 2
Perfect weather again, a few less players, but just as many crows. The call could be heard around the course. Loretta Green, Chris Miller and Margaret Potter were the stars of this day. Home-made Slice was the drawcard to keep around 40 staying for a chat.
Day 3
Weather was on everyone minds as the double century 100 km winds and 100ml of rain threatened. The weather man was correct but all players in and enjoying a chat when the change hit.
Marie Farrant, Jo Bourke and Sue Paul shared the good scores.
Final Round—order of merit
A Grade. B Grade. C Grade
Marilyn wright Margaret Cook. Margaret Potter
Judi O Brien Jo Burke. Sue Paul
Kay Brennan Pauline Lightfoot. Rose Sheath.
The weather man shines for us again. Cold start but beautiful day.
Heavy going for all concerned. At the end of the day the engraver will be busy engraving the following winners
Kay Brennan. A Grade Champion, and overall Nett Winner (Pat Norman Memorial Trophy)
Margaret Cook B Grade champion
Sue Paul C Grade champion
Kay continued with a great last round with that borrowed sand iron.
Margaret held off all contenders with another solid round.
Sue won on a count back from Margaret Potter — both were concerned that a playoff was happening but a read of conditions of play said this is only to occur for A Grade. Luckily for Sue no drug testing was done as Codral helped her cruise around the final 2 rounds. Beware the sick golfer. Apparently considering adding it to her game.
Vets Ladies Champion: Marilyn Wright
Seniors Vet Champion: Rose Sheath
Congratulations to all winners and to the Ladies Committee for their excellent organization. Thanks also goes out to the starters and green staff, the course was set to challenge.

2011 Camp Quality Charity Day a big success
The day was a big success with $4,478 raised forCampQualityand the 104 participants enjoying the Canadian Foursomes event, the sausage sizzle and afternoon tea.
The course is getting back to its best following the flood damage earlier in the year and the greens staff added the finishing touches by painting the Camp Quality logo on the approaches to the 5th, 8th, 16th and 18th greens (as pictured).
Thanks to the many generous sponsors prizes for both men and ladies went down to 10th placing with balls following.
With nearest the pins, a number of novelty events including longest and straightest drives, it was hard for participants to go home empty handed after having enjoyed a great days entertainment and having contributed to what is a very worthy cause.
Jamberoo Ladies have built up a proud tradition of running this event for 18 years and once again did a sterling job in organising and administering the day.
