RECYCLING

As part of Clean Up Australia Day the club is launching a trial of recycling on the course. Most of our course rubbish can be recycled.

There will  be a small yellow recycling bin on the 18th and 10th. General rubbish bins at other holes. There is already a large yellow bin near the 1st and 2 others near the assmbling area.

Plastic and glass bottles, cans, , paper, cardboard and sandwich holders all accepted.

Please help keep the clubs rubbish costs down by recycling and assisting the environment at the same time.

Pass the word on as you are out on the course.

Thank-you.

Our New Duster—Dakota 410!!

Congratulations to John Duncan and his team for commissioning the new Dakota 410 dusting machine! Doing this by hand is now a thing of the past.
All Greens were done this week. You will notice what a great job the green staff has done.

The Dakota 410 had  been identified by John as a piece of equipment that would improve Jamberoo Golf course greens and there surrounds. The Dakota 410 has been on the capital improvements list for a number of years .The approval to purchase was finally given.

On its arrival John’s team was  trained in its operation and tuned the Dakota 410 machine for  our course. John explains with the commissioning of the unit and its continued application Jamberoo’s greens will become firmer and faster. This will provide  all our players with improved course conditions—a better test for golfers putting abilities and an increase in the putter retirement rate. The Dakota usage is not limited to the greens and its application’s will roll out to the Tees and Fairways.

Danger on the course

JGC LOGO 300THERE has been a spate of people being hit on the golf course in recent weeks. Remember Jamberoo Golf course is very narrow and if  you hit a ball off-line towards another fairway then don’t forget to call out FORE.

If you need to go into an adjoining fairway then do so with extreme caution and be aware of the upcoming groups. If you see somebody walking across your fairway call out FORE before you hit and make sure they are aware that you are hitting.

Above all use common sense in all situations before somebody is seriously hurt.
