New Year at Jamberoo

Upcoming Events in January.

The 2023 golfing calendar is available for view on our webpage, http://jamberoogolf.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/2023-program-final-.pdf.

Here is the programme for January,

Notice the commencement of the 4BBB Just Bathrooms Cup on Wedesday 11th; the commencement of the Men’s Pennant season on January 29; and the first Veteran’s Ambrose with a 7.30 shotgun start and bbq afterwards on January 30.

Another important day and new to our Calendar is the Memorial Day to be played on Saturday 28th to honour our sadly departed members. We are hoping to raise some money to purchase a new bench on the 6th tee replacing the old wooden slab. The cost of the day for members will be $20 (visitors will need to still pay their $9 surcharge on top of the comp fee).

Please start organising your 4 person teams.

Bare and not so bare patches.

A bare patch on a fairway allows a player to take a free drop according to our local rule. As the name implies a bare patch is a part of the course where there is no grass, it is on bare earth.

On a fairway and on dirt = a bare lie. Take a free drop if you want.

Here are examples of non-bare patches:

Why not in the rough?

The reason is that some people were taking free relief from under bushes. You only get free relief in the rough from wheel tracks from heavy vehicles or from sand filled holes created by the green staff.

When will the fairway on 12 be back in play?

The green staff have been treating the affected areas and gradually mowing it back down to a playable height. Be patient.

If you are not sure of the status of your lie, ask your marker for an interpretation. Do what is fair!
