Thank you to all those members who took part supporting this very worthy cause. Another example of Jamberoo members caring for the community in which they live.

At Jamberoo Golf Club the Membership year runs from the 1st of June until the 31st of May.
As we are approaching the end of June it is worth mentioning that there are certain rules put in place in our Articles of Association for those members yet to pay their 2024-25 subscription.
Within one (1) month from the 31st of May subscriptions of any member become
payable.
If any member fails to pay their subscription by this time then a demand for payment shall be made by letter/email, and, if still unpaid at the expiration of a further 14 days they shall thereupon
be expunged from the Register of Members and thereupon they shall cease to be a member of the
Club. The Secretary shall inform the person so ceasing to be a member that his or her membership
has ceased.
Those members who intend to remain as members of JGC but are yet to pay their subscriptions are reminded to pay asap or to contact the club Office or Secretary.

Jamberoo will always be indebted to our many volunteers for their spirit and dedication to our club.
The following groups
(1) Nicks Team
(2) Members who generously donated from their Trophy Account Funds, and the
(3) ‘Blood, Sweat and Tears’ Volunteers who ventured onto the Course, and Volunteers in General.
are to rewarded, as a gesture of thanks, by a special stubby holder designed in their honour to recognize their support of our club.
These will be available for distribution very shortly and you will be informed through the ‘Daily Cow’ when and where they will be available.
On the suggestion of some ‘seasoned’ veteran members and as a new initiative for our Monday Veteran Members it is envisaged that a seasonal stroke round be played from the White course.
They will be known as the Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn Vet Medals.
Incentive for ‘Young at heart’ Members
Those members 80+ years young or over will also be acknowledged/rewarded with a Half yearly Medal.
Presentation of Medals
Everyone goes to great lengths to win a Medal but once achieved there is no official presentation or interest (we have tried in the past to capture winning members with a photo but they become elusive, shy souls)
Medals will be presented in half yearly BBQ’s in December and March.
Cost of the round is $25 which includes a $10 donation to the Red Shield Appeal which may be claimed in your tax return. Those members seeking an official receipt for tax purposes can contact the Salvation Army representatives on site for the day. Further donations will also be gladly accepted.
Please consult the rules sheet which is listed below.
Due to the rule that each team member must have at least 1 tee shot used for each nine and have this recorded on the score card the use of the mi-score phone score App is not to be used for this round.
Enter your hole-by-hole team score into the computer at the end of the round. Use the first group member’s name.

Rules:
Nearest the pin and Super Shot will be played as usual but there will be no drive and pitch prizes on the day.
A fine day greeted the 64 players for today’s playing of the Mens Veterans Championship and Stableford. With the course still a little damp and with the pins in very tricky positions many found the course to be bearish and arduous.
Not Craig Foster though. Craig tamed the course with a 74 off the stick (63 nett) to easily win the Championship by 14 shots! A highlight for Craig was a birdie on 18, a hole most found very cantankerous.
The nett winner was Col Booth with a 67, 3 clear of his nearest rivals. Col employed successfully his usual tactics of playing sensibly aiming to shoot near his handicap.
33 members and visiting players had the opportunity to play a stableford from the Blue tees. Jamberoo member Dave Newton led them all home with a score of 35 points.
Congratulations to our new Veterans Champion and well played to all players supporting this major event. Thanks also to all of our visitors. You are always most welcome.
Good luck to all players in tomorrow’s 1st round of the Women’s Championship. The second and third rounds will be played Thursday this week and Tuesday next week respectively.
There are many hazards on our course but here is another one you might not expect. The Plovers are nesting near the bridge on the 16th and are very aggressively defending their young ones at the moment. Just ask Andrew and Dan who both felt the displeasure of a Plover swoop attack. Make sure they can see your eyes and don’t walk in this area on your own!
As a trial a small section of the 5th tee has been carpeted so that wear on the tee can be managed. Apparently the new area will accept most tees and has a soft grass like feel to it.
As long as your ball is between the markers you can take your stance on either the carpet or grass.
Please, when the tee is located in this area players are requested not to move the tee markers. Only the greenkeeper or club captains are allowed to move the tees.
The booking sheet is available for this Sunday’s Mixed fourball. Plenty of spaces still available.
The Thursday Blokes only competition, the B9s, was off to an excellent start with good weather and very interesting topics of conversation. I believe some drinks were enjoyed after the 9 holes were played!
If you are new member of the club then this would be a great opportunity to get to meet other members of Jamberoo and get an introduction to our course.
Pictured – The June bunch of blokes!
No handicap required. The B9 is run every third Thursday hitting off at 2.30. The next round will held be on Thursday 18th of July.
