An intriging day saw some Jamberoo hopes dashed while others were enhanced.
Firstly at home, the White Horse Cup division 3 team played a do or die match against Bowral.
Unfortunately for the ‘Cowpats’ it was a very disappointing result with Bowral showing excellent form and consistent play to win 6-1. Peter Hackett was our lone winner 6/5. the other matches were close but in the end the strong Bowral proved to be the better team.
Commiserations to Arthur Bosanquet losing on the 18th, Lee Haward lost 2/1, Anthony Smith down 4/3, Angus Pinkstone down 2/1, Peter Francis down 2/1 and Rob McLean down 6/4.
Team Captain, Shane Townsend was very proud of the efforts of his team during the season only to see them falter at the last hurdle.
The WHC division 1 team had a bye today and are left only with the final round next Sunday at Kiama to find that elusive semi-final berth.
In very good news, Our C Pennant team were playing Port Kembla at Port Kembla. The winner to pass through to the semis and the loser most probably out. This at a venue that has seen many a heart-break for our C Pennant team in the past.
Jamberoo won 3.5 to 1.5 to qualify for the semi-finals in probably the greatest win in Jamberoo C Pennant history.
Chris Leckey won 5/3 after losing the first 4 holes in a great comeback victory;
Pat Paris was behind all match but made a back-nine charge to level the scores after 15 only to go down 2/1. Ken Bradley again made a crucial putt on the 18th to square his match. Mal Hoy was in charge all day and progressed to win 2/1. Tom Zimmermann played very solidly to win his match 5/4.
Congratulations to the C Pennant team.
