A very successful morning with 19 volunteers in attendance for our first working bee in many years.
The workers focused on the driveway, car park retainer walls, 2nd green garden, clearing of the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th & 12 tees. Congratulations to the team for their excellent achievements.
Pam
Why not join the fun and help your club. A working bee is planned for the last Friday of each month. Bring a pal!
At tonight’s Board of Directors meeting several price adjustments were approved for various green and cart hire fees at the club.
Your Board is well aware of the effects any price rise has on member budgets and consequently have made changes to have as little effect as possible on our members.
An increase in cart hire rates for Members is unavoidable unfortunately so a new system has been put in place which counteracts this increase. Hire a cart 9 times and the tenth cart hire is free! Obtain a card from the Golfshop and have it marked every time you use it.
Another great benefit of being a member of Jamberoo Golf Club.
Here is the new list of green and cart fees to apply from July 1:
Friday Volunteers Day – its not too late to register.
This Friday June 30 a few garden tasks are planned for this first working bee. We will have suitable jobs for all levels of physical capacity, so come along and get involved in the long tradition of volunteering at Jamberoo Golf Club. Feel free to bring a friend along even if they are not a golfer.
All you need to bring is some suitable gloves for garden related work. Be sure to wear closed in shoes, and a hat. All tools will be supplied, but feel free to bring along your own snips, shovel, crow bar or other favoured tool. We will start work at 8:30 and finish at 12:00 for a sausage sizzle lunch.
Please register your participation with the golf shop by Wednesday 28/6/23 so that we can ensure we have enough lunch to go around.
Voucher use under review.
When you win a voucher in a club competition most members have them saved automatically to their club accounts, saving them for a large purchase or more regularly for the payments of next year’s fees. Some use their vouchers to pay for cart hire or competition fees.
We would like to enable your voucher winnings to also be used for purchases at our bar.
From September 1 any voucher won in a competition at Jamberoo must be used at our club.
This does not apply for special Open Day winnings or for Drummond Golf Vouchers won in a comp.
Winter Discounts on selected stock at our Shop.
Many items have been marked down 50% so hurry in and grab a great deal.
Oops, I’ve done it again!
I inadvertently reversed the flag colours for pin positions on the greens.
It should be Red = Front of green, White = centre of green and Yellow = back of green.
The new yellow flagsticks will be in play from Monday 26th of June.
To mark the position of the flagstick on the green different coloured flags will be used.
RED flag – Front of Green
WHITE flag – Centre of Green
YELLOW flag – Back of Green
Please note: The Women’s White Course now has Red tees to distinguish them from the Men’s White tees.
Aces and Eagles.
Congratulations to Matthew O’Rourke for his ace on 13 today. Using a 9 iron Matthew was very pleased to hole out and ensure he won the Super Shot!
Matthew will have his ball mounted as a permanent trophy to remind himself of his perfect shot and will receive a bottle of wine from St Halletts wines, a special cap and ball marker from GolfNSW, 6 balls from the club and have his name entered on the honour roll of hole-in-one achievers. Well played Matthew.
On the fifth hole today Paul Henderson recorded an eagle two, holing his short pitch shot from the fairway. Paul receives 3 balls from the club. Well played. Paul would like to thank his marker for putting down the wrong score on this hole leading to his DQ. – (edited 29-6). We appreciate Paul informing us of the mistake.
Fourball Bookings.
When booking into a fourball Event please ensure you have your name next to the player you want as your partner. A note from page 5 of the 2023 Conditions of play and competition rules concerning 4 ball Events explains.
“Four-ball Events: Where golfers are left without a partner in a Four-ball event, they are to complete a single card in the format for the day – stroke, stableford or par. The match committee will select all single cards for the day and randomly combine them into pairs for the competition of the day. Please be careful also when booking in for Four-ball events. Pairs will play in the groups as listed on the time sheet. Most Fourball Stableford events will be run in conjunction with a single stableford event and will be handicapped.”
2023 Matchplay.
Have you checked who you are playing in round 1? Can’t remember, then please ring the golfshop to be enlightened and to find out your opponents contact number.
