Recent Aces

We have had a flurry of holes in one during the early months of 2014, including two on the same day!

Congratulations to Ron Hewson, Cheryl Smee, Toby Bartle and Chris Leckey.

Your trophies are now available for collection from the Office.

Well done.

News from the Course

18 holes available for play.

The Course is open with all 18 holes available for play.

Motorised Carts are available.

On occasions, after prolonged heavy rainfall, some holes become waterlogged and unplayable and are taken out of play to protect them while they dry. This happened this week.

We have some alternatives to allow play to occur, including the shortened course played on Wednesday.

The Match Committee would like to hear from members if they have alternative ideas for days such as Tuesday and Wednesday or if in fact they are happy with the present arrangement. Please reply with your suggestions in the “leave a comment” below.

Sunday Mixed Event.

Each month, normally on the last Sunday, the club runs a mixed fourball event.

This Sunday, the 24th of March sees the next scheduled event.

It is an American Foursomes – a great team event, with tee times between 9 – 10 am still available.

After the event players normally join together and enjoy a little luncheon and some refreshments as the winners are announced.

Why not join in on the fun?

Ovarian Cancer Charity Day

Thank you one & all for the great “teamsmanship” shown yesterday. It was a great day under trying circumstances. The weather was on our side, thank goodness. The slices were magnificent – thanks.

News from the Course

Course open for play.

by Larry Kent, Captain.

Wednesday’s competition will go ahead with a few restrictions as the course has recovered well from the weekend drenching.

Club Captain Larry Kent, following the advice of the greenkeeper, has limited the competition to a 16 hole event with holes 16 and 17 deemed too wet to play. After playing the 15th proceed to the 18th tee for your final hole.

Carts will be available but players are to use common sense in their use.

If you are a member of the Vets then please inform the starter and you will be entered in the Vets division and be allowed to win one of the competition prizes as well as have a chance in the Vets division. You cannot win both.
