Gary Brickell Hits One Close.
Members braved the forecast inclement weather on Monday for the Veterans competition.
Fortunately, after a light shower early in the morning, the weather cleared and the course remained very playable, with no further rain affecting the round.
One of the highlights of the day came on the 13th hole, where well-known member Gary Brickell produced a superb tee shot. Gary’s ball finished just 30 centimetres from the hole, leaving him with a simple tap-in birdie and earning plenty of admiration from his fellow competitors.
A shot like that is always worth celebrating!

Strong Field Set for Jamberoo Mixed Open
The annual Jamberoo Mixed Open will be played next Sunday, with another strong field set to contest one of the club’s most prestigious events.
Among those nominated are last year’s champions, Elise and Ben Howchin, who will be looking to successfully defend their title against a quality field. Julianne Lawton and Dane Edwards have also nominated to defend their nett win from last year.
The Mixed Open holds a special place in the club’s history. First played in 1981, the inaugural year of Jamberoo Golf Club, it is the oldest of the club’s Open events and has become a much-anticipated fixture on the golfing calendar.
The event will be contested in the Canadian Foursomes format, providing a fun yet challenging test of teamwork and shot-making.
There are still a small number of tee times available for anyone wishing to join the field. Members and visitors are encouraged to enter and be part of this long-standing tradition.
