Reilly Breaks Through to Claim Veterans Winter Medal

Veterans golfers were greeted by a crisp winter morning before conditions eased into a pleasant day for the playing of the Veterans Winter Medal. Despite overnight rain, the course was presented in excellent condition, providing a true test of golf, and drawing praise from the field.

Accurate shot-making, sensible course management and a patient approach were the keys to success, with the testing conditions producing some excellent golf and several impressive scores.

The day’s standout performance came from Tim Reilly, who captured the 2026 Veterans Winter Medal with a superb 63 nett. Tim combined consistency with composure throughout his round, taking his opportunities when they arose and avoiding costly mistakes to finish with an outstanding score.

Club Veterans Champion Presented with Championship Trophy

Our 2026 Club Veterans Champion, Noel Laman, was officially presented with his Championship Trophy following his outstanding victory in the Club Veterans Championship held in May.

This was the first opportunity to recognise Noel’s achievement in front of his fellow veterans since his remarkable championship-winning round of 68, a score that will be remembered as one of the finest in the event’s history.

Accepting the trophy, Noel thanked the organisers for their efforts in conducting one of the major events on the Jamberoo Golf Club calendar and also acknowledged the sportsmanship and friendship of his fellow competitors. Reflecting on his performance, Noel said he was delighted with his round, having reached four under par during the day before finishing with a superb 68. His score remains the lowest round ever recorded in the history of the Jamberoo Veterans Championship, a truly outstanding achievement.

Unfortunately, nett champion Henry Martignago was unable to attend the presentation and sent his apologies. Henry produced a magnificent 61 nett to claim the handicap title after an exceptional round of golf.
