Friday News from the Roo

Drummond Golf on the Move

Many of our members support one of our major sponsors, Drummond Golf Shellharbour, for their golfing equipment — and today we have some fantastic news to share.

Drummond Golf is relocating to a new, larger, and better-equipped store in Warilla, providing an even improved shopping experience for our members and the wider golfing community.

This Friday trade at their current Shellharbour location will be operating from 9:00am to 5:00pm. It’s a great opportunity to drop in and take advantage of any clearance bargains before the move.

The new store will officially open on Wednesday, 5th May, at:
144 Shellharbour Road, Warilla.

We encourage members to continue supporting Drummond Golf and wish the team every success in their new premises.

Here are some photos of the new shop getting in shape for the opening.

May Monthly Medal tomorrow.

With the course in outstanding condition, this Saturday sees the playing of the May Monthly Medal, with players eager to test themselves across our beautiful layout. If recent mid-week scores are anything to go by, expect some very low scoring.

For those not keen on a stroke round a medley stableford is also available.

Tuesday saw some fantastic golf played by our female members. Gail Vandenbrink, playing in her first individual event set the course on fire. She scored an amazing 50 individual points. Gail was awarded first prize in her division and Golf Connect took a whooping 17 shots off her handicap (remembering that handicaps are volatile in the first 10 rounds). Judy Casey also played a fantastic round scoring 45 points as did Margaret Cook with 42 points.

Congratulations to Bernie McGlinchey on Wednesday for his fine score of 43 points.

Some upcoming events to look forward to:

Saturday 9th May – Red Shield Charity Ambrose

Monday 11th May – Mens Vets Championship

Tuesday 19th May – Womens Championships commence.
