Sunday News from the Course

by Dave Ransom,

😢Even Julius Caesar knew something was afoot in March — and while today wasn’t quite the Ides, our Golf NSW Illawarra Pennant teams certainly felt the full force of the new month.

It was a tough day across the board, with all three of our sides outplayed in what proved to be a disappointing outing for the club.

Both our White Horse Cup Division 3 and B Pennant teams travelled to Port Kembla Golf Club — a course that has historically tested us — and again found the going hard against strong opposition.

Meanwhile, our White Horse Cup Division 1 team endured a heart-breaking loss against The Links Shell Cove at Worrigee Links, with matches going right down to the wire.

There were, however, some standout individual performances to acknowledge.

Lee Hayward produced a commanding display in B Pennant, winning his match 6/5 at number one.

Dallas Laughton continues his outstanding form in White Horse Cup Division 3 and remains undefeated and well played to Peter Willis on his fine win by 2 holes.

Liam Miners also recorded a strong win in White Horse Cup Division 1.

While the results didn’t fall our way this time, the effort and commitment remain strong. March may have struck a blow, but our teams will regroup, refocus, and be ready for the next challenge.
