Greens Committee Meeting 2nd February
1. Stacked tables and chairs on the verandah
We have some stacked chairs and tables on the verandah marked “Free, please take.”
If you’d like to give any of them a new home, you’re very welcome to do so — just please let the Pro Shop know first.
Anything left after 10 February will unfortunately have to be discarded.
Thanks everyone for your help.
2. Green Hole Condition Notice
There have been some issues noted with the condition of holes on our greens. Please be aware that the Club has recently invested in upgraded equipment to ensure holes are cut cleanly and smoothly.
The concerns and irregularities being observed in and around some holes are not equipment-related, but are being caused by players not taking sufficient care when removing and replacing the flagstick. In addition, some players are using their putters to retrieve their ball from the hole, which can cause damage or raise the turf around the cup.
Members are kindly reminded to take care when handling the flagstick and to retrieve their ball by hand with the flag out to help maintain the quality of our greens for everyone.
3. 4th Green
The fourth green has been infected by a rare type of fungus affecting the roots of the grass. Staff will be working on remediating the grass on the green and the use of a temporary green may be necessary for a short time while remediation takes place.
4. Preferred Lies
Until further notice 30cm preferred lies through the green will be in force.
5. Red Penalty Area Markings.
The Red penalty area for the pond in front of the 8th green has its penalty area defined by the cleared top edge of the penalty area.
On the 16th hole, the red penalty area is defined by the top of the brick work. The fence is not in the penalty area and players are entitled to free relief not nearer the hole if their swing or stance is affected by the fence under immovable obstruction rules.
6. Changes to programme – Womens Pennants.
Women Pennant Days are to be played on Mondays in 2026. Consequently the Mens Veterans will be played on Thursday mornings of those weeks.
16th February – men vets to play on Thursday 19th February
2nd March – men vets to play on Thursday 5th March before women vets
16th March – men vets to play on Thursday 19th March.
Please book in on the time sheets when they become available.
The Green’s Committee

Men’s vets Thursday tee off times, please confirm.
March 5th – 6.00 until 7.15
March 19th – 8.15 until 9.00
Gary,
The Thursday 5th March times should have been from 6.30 to 7.15 with more time after the Women if necessary. I have fixed the typo. Thanks for letting me know.
The February 19th tee times are from 6.30 to 10.30 and the March 19th tee times are from 8.15 to 9.30 (another typo) because there is a social club booking in the early morning.
The other option is not to run any Men Vets comps in those weeks of course.
about time to dig the 4th up and start again. once again we the members will have to put up with temp green , it should have been done at the start of growing season.
I think that’s what they are doing. The green was making a good recovery but the new rare fungus which loves winter grass but kills bent grass roots was undetected by our consultant horticulturist and this caused issues as the winter grass died.
I think the temporary green is an option for recovery and I think it will be used only for social play. This will have to be confirmed.
