Bob Neilson Shoots His Age!

It’s a rare and impressive feat at Jamberoo to shoot your age — it takes equal parts skill, consistency and longevity. Only the finest golfers… or the true “ancient mariners”… ever manage it!
Today, Bob Neilson did just that, scoring an excellent 40 points off his 15 handicap, equating to a superb 78 off the stick.
A remarkable achievement.
Well done, Bob!

1. Team will consist of four or less.
2. Each player in the team plays a tee shot.
4. The ball considered in the best position is chosen and marked. The person whose ball is chosen does not play the next shot. it is not necessary to count the number of tee shots for each player.
All other team members team may then place their ball within one club length of the marked position, no nearer the hole, and play from this position. NOTE: if the selected shot is on the fairway, the fringe of the green, or in a hazard, bunker or rough (intermediate or regular) the ball must be placed within one club length of the selected shot, no nearer the hole, and must remain on the fairway, the fringe of the green, or in the hazard, bunker or rough, (Intermediate or regular). In a sand bunker, the sand may be raked prior to any ball being placed.
5. This procedure continues until ball is on the green where all players get to putt.
On the putting green, the position of the selected ball is marked. All team members may then place their ball within one putter head length of the marked position, no nearer the hole, and putt from this position. Once the ball is holed, no further strokes count.
6. When putting, to save time players may elect to hole out.
7. Handicaps – 1/8 of total of team handicaps; 1/6 for teams of 3; 1/4 for teams of 2.

Just wondering, as many other golfers are wondering, why results of Las Vegas Ambrose has not been published? We can see that vets results are being lodged, but no results for Saturday 22nd. We thought that at least one of the committee or directors would have entered the results being that it was a charity event, with no NTP, no DNP, no SUPERSHOT. No possible raffle to raise additional funds for whatever charity it was for. ( not a great comp to encourage visitors). Why are we consistently relying on either Dave or Marie to complete these tasks? We thought procedures should be in place to ensure that they are not lumbered with addition loads of work when they return from holidays etc.
I’m sorry Ron but Marie and Dave are in Victoria on holidays. We have worked through some comps remotely but it was impossible to do the Ambrose as the scores were not entered. I have no idea of any results.
Yes it is about time others took some responsibility. In all probability Marie may well stop working in January!
We will race back on Tuesday and will update the results for Saturday and Monday in the afternoon.
Thanks to Linda as well for checking the scorecards are entered for Wednesday and Monday allowing us to enter results and update accounts for these days.
Yes Dave…exactly.. you dnjoy your holidays you both deserve it. About time someone took responsibility for this particular role. It is called accountability for the position that they hold in an organisation. Responsibilities h should not be lumbered on one or 2 individuals. It is ok to have a position on the board or committe but they are supposed to be representing their membership. Many nembers are totally disappointed….Any how Dave, you and Marie enjoy your holiday. And thank you nate for the reply. Much appreciated.
If it wasn’t for the Ransom family contribution to this club it would be !!. Stand up committee. ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY
