Members on Tour – Kew Country Club Vets Week of Golf

by Pam Middlebrook

Twelve Jamberoo members travelled north to participate in the Kew Country Club Veterans Week of Golf, a four-day event that once again proved to be one of the highlights of the golfing calendar.

The results were outstanding, with Rhonda McKinley the standout performer — finishing Runner-Up Overall in the NSWVGA Women’s 54-Hole Championship.

Daily Prize Winners:

  • Pam Middlebrook – 3rd in Division 1
  • Cheryl Smee – 3rd in Division 2
  • Neen Coffee – 2nd in Division 3
  • Kim Oborn – 3rd in Division 3

On the final day, the team of Glen Bayo, Sylvia Karschies, Lidia Waine, and Neen Coffee claimed victory in the Ambrose competition, triumphing over a full field of 33 teams. Jamberoo also won the best dressed on Friday in their ‘Where’s Wally” gear.

This event is always one of the best weeks of golf — friendly, well-organised, and full of great hospitality. Players were greeted with champagne on arrivallunch provided each day, and more bubbles at presentation. Well done to Col Voss and the Kew Country Club team for hosting another memorable week!

A new allegiance?

⛳🏆 Mens 4BBB Matchplay Championships Update

The quality of golf on display in the first round was exceptional, with several close and hard-fought contests showcasing great skill and sportsmanship. From these matches, our four semi-finalist teams have now emerged.

Congratulations and well played to the following teams:

  • Peter Francis & Noel Laman to play Jack Leroy & Les Skarratts
  • Luke & Delmyr Gee Crockford to play Larry Kent & Pat Paris

Players are reminded that the handicaps listed on the Notice Board are the maximum each player can play off for the remainder of the tournament. If your handicap has since fallen, then your new lower handicap will apply.

Wishing all teams the very best as the competition moves into the next exciting stage.
