16th green open for play.
The fence has been completed and the new grass lain. This means the 16th green is open for play from Saturday for the Mens Foursomes Championship.
Obviously no play will be possible from the freshly laid grass over the new fence so if your ball finishes in that area a free drop is compulsory from one of the two new drop zones which are located on the north and south of the green.
The penalty area in front of the green is a RED penalty area and lies from the top of the fence to the edge of the water. Back on line penalties apply.
Drummond Golf Prizes.
Drummond Golf have a sponsorship arrangement with Jamberoo Golf Club with sponsorship of both the Mens and Womens competitions.
Once each month on a Wednesday they donate a voucher for the competition. Initially this covered the full amount of the first prize for the nett winner but Drummond reduced the size of the voucher so that it no longer covers the full amount of that prize.
The options were to give the winner a smaller amount (not a good option) or to allocate the larger prize amount. Therefore the nett winner in each division gets the same larger prize. Drummond were happy for their voucher to go to the gross winner of the day. This is the arrangement that has been in force this year.
Mens Foursomes Championship.
The Mens Foursomes Championship is a Jamberoo Members only event and will be played from the Blue tees.
Teams with Visitors, Women Members and Mixed teams will be playing an American Foursomes (swap twice) from the red / white tees.
The Gold Courses are unavailable for use at the moment as the work on the new tees has commenced.

The gross winner on the 16th of July was Wayne Prior from the links who received 2 balls while 2nd gross from Jamberoo won the Drummond voucher in an open competition ??????
Peter,
I have just checked the results of that day. Rowan Prior had 32 points off a 4 handicap, ie 28 gross. Anthony Humphries had 31 points off a 1 handicap, ie 30 gross. No mistake made. Rowan received 1 ball for his 32 points stableford score and not 2.
Visitors can win the gross on the Drummond day like Stephanie Hall (from the Australian Golf Club) on the 6th of August who had 37 gross on that day.
Thanks for the comment. It is good to make sure we are doing it right.
The safety fence should not be in the penalty area. Relief should be available from this fence via the drop zones
Thanks Lance, I have sent this info to the club captain.
