The changes coming to your golf experience

Golf Australia CONNECT.

We want to make you aware of important changes to your handicap and scoring services as part of Golf Australia’s national technology upgrade.

From 8pm AWST / 10pm AEST, Sunday 28 September 2025, the 25-year-old GOLF Link system will be permanently shut down. On Thursday 2 October, the new Golf Australia Official App and golfer portal at GOLF.com.au will launch – becoming your new home for handicaps, scoring history, and more.

Your new Golf ID

  • Your current GOLF Link number is now your Golf ID for life.
  • This is your current member number eg 2120801771
  • From 2 October, you’ll use this Golf ID to register and log in across the new Golf Australia system.

How to register from 2 October

  1. Visit GOLF.com.au and go to the Sign up / Login page.
  2. Enter your Golf ID – a verification email will be sent to your registered email.
  3. Create a new password and confirm your profile details.
  4. Download the new Golf Australia Official App from your app store.

Transition period: what to expect.

During the transition, handicap services will be offline while more than 250 million scores are migrated by Golf Australia. They have provided the following timeline:

  • 28 Sept – GOLF Link shuts down permanently.
  • 29 Sept–1 Oct – Handicap services offline; handicaps recalculated to align with the World Handicap System.
  • 1 Oct – Major cutover day. Expect interruptions and temporary redirects. We recommend avoiding handicap services and websites on this day.
  • 2 Oct – New App and GOLF.com.au go live. Recalculated handicaps available to view.
  • 2–10 Oct – Clubs (including ours) will transition in phases. Some may take until around 10 October. This is normal.

Local help – Onboarding Champions

Our club has designated Golfer Onboarding Champions to help members register, log in and get started on the new platform. They will be available at the club Saturday, Tuesday, and Wednesday after comps. Please reach out to them directly if you need one-on-one support during the transition:

  • Dave Ransom
  • Peter Young
  • Sylvia Karschies
  • Kim Oborn

For any members who are tech-savvy and would like to volunteer as a Golfer Onboarding Champion (with special training provided by Golf Australia), please contact Dave Ransom.

What you can do now

  • Make sure your account details at golf.org.au are correct.
  • If you don’t already have an account, create one before 28 September.
  • Update your email address if needed at www.golf.org.au/registration.

After 2 October you will need to contact us to make changes directly in the new platform.

Additional support

If you need extra assistance, Golf Australia’s Support Team is available 7 days a week (6.30am – 8.30pm AEST):

  • Email: help@golf.com.au
  • Web: help.golf.com.au

This is the largest digital upgrade in the history of golf in Australia, supporting more than 450,000 golfers and 1,900 clubs. Thank you for your patience as we work with Golf Australia to make the move.

In order to undertake the transition effectively, Golf Australia has advised all clubs and venues there will be an offline period from the evening of September 28 through to October 2. During this short period, rounds of golf played will not be able to be handicapped or submitted to the portal.

Clubs are reviewing the golfing calendar with this offline period in mind.

In the meantime, if you want to know a little more about this technological transition, Golf Australia has developed an online Golfer Information Guide. You can access this guide here: https://golf-australia-connect-club-guide.my.canva.site/golf-australia-connect-golfer-information-guide.

This is an important project for golf around Australia. Golf Australia is excited about the benefits that will eventually flow to its clubs, facilities, golfers and golf fans.

Key Dates

28 September 2025

Late evening, GOLF Link will be shut down with no access from golfers or administrators. Golf Australia strongly recommends that clubs do not schedule handicap golf from the 29th of September for a period
of two weeks. This allows for the known offline period and some contingency.

2 October 2025

The new GA Connect platform will go-live on this date. GA Connect Venue Management Software (VMS) users will be able to start accessing the platform. In addition, the new Golf Australia Official mobile app will be made available for downloading and the new website GOLF.com.au incorporating the handicap login portal will also go-live.

Clubs with Licensed Software Providers like Jamberoo Golf Club.

Once the GA Connect platform is live, GA-Licensed Software Providers (LSPs) will commence the process of transitioning each of their clubs to the new platform. This process is largely a manual one. For those clubs that use MiClub, this integration process may continue until October 10.

Clubs that use the services from a GA-LSP will not be able to access their usual service through their GA-LSP until that transition has been completed.

GA-LSPs will provide club administrators with more specific timelines for their respective clubs and will
confirm when the transition has been completed.

Kind regards,
Dave Ransom
