Friday News from the Course

πŸ† Round 2 of Mens Club Championships set to be played.

I have just checked the BOM Weather App seeing what we can expect tomorrow.

Its predicted to be all clear with light winds from the NE with a max temperature of 20.

YEAH!

For those not playing in the Championship stroke round the annual Stableford Salver will be contested with the winner receiving a new Golf Bag courtesy of Steve Oppert of Oaks Automotive. Let the starter know as you pay your comp fee.

Good luck and play well everybody.

The course is in good condition with the greens firm and fast. As a precaution the match committee are allowing 15 cm preferred lies (thats 6″ in the old lingo – about a hand span) on fairways only.

Leaders after round 1 were:

Gross: A grade Joe Neilson, B grade Peter Francis and Ken Holt, C Grade Peter Hughes

Nett: A grade Paul Henderson, B grade Peter Francis, C grade Peter Hughes.

10 Day Window now on Booking Page.

Club Captain, Larry Kent, has requested that the booking window on MiGolf be changed to 10 days for regular club events up from the previous 8 days. They will still be available from 6pm.

I have completed the task and members can now book in using the 10 day window.

Super Shot.

The super shot will be contested on the 11th for the month of September and then move to the 13th, 7th or 9th in coming months.

  1. Struggling to understand why the Stableford Salver is being contested on a Medal Day – you cannot play in both if you missed the first round. It’s not acceptable even if the weather has caused problems.

    1. Clearly a mistake Bob. The continued cancellations have addled my brain. I guess you have to choose between the Salver or the stroke round. Too late to correct it at this hour. The Salver is designed for those not playing the stroke round.

      1. Time for members like yourself Bob, and Craig F to join the Board. You are both clearly interested in the club and communicating to members. Both of you have much to add. We have 4 vacancies I believe waiting to be filled.
I’ve stuffed up twice this week. This is another reason I no longer sit on the Board. Would be pleased to train a member to write and edit the ‘Cow’ and to administer MiGolf and the Booking page.
