Course closed due to ‘rain bomb’ over Jamberoo.
Like most sporting venues in the Illawarra, Jamberoo Golf Club has closed the course for the weekend.
Heavy overnight rain deluging the course with 41mm has caused much of the course to become waterlogged with water lying about making the course unsuitable and unplayable.
Swamp Rd is under water which made it difficult for our staff to attend the course early this morning so please be understanding if you could not contact the club this morning.
In some good news I have been informed that the course has not flooded as this stage.
The course was inspected at 6.30 this morning and further inspections will take place to determine if play is possible on Monday.
