🏌️‍♀️ Jamberoo Mixed Open – Event Wrap-Up 🏌️‍♂️

Perfect winter weather greeted the 54 players who took part in this year’s Jamberoo Mixed Open, played in the always-enjoyable Canadian Foursomes format.

We were delighted to welcome back our defending champions, Elise and Ben Howchin from The Grange Golf Club, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. After trailing by two shots at the halfway mark, the Howchins produced a brilliant closing stretch, storming home over the final six holes to post a 76 off the stick—securing back-to-back titles and a one-shot victory.

Local Jamberoo duo Lidia Waine and Joe Neilson pushed them all the way to finish runners-up, while Steve and Ann Ridley from Wollongong set the early pace with a fast start to lead at the turn. However, their momentum faded on the back nine and they eventually claimed third place.

🏆 Nett Results

The nett competition was just as exciting, with the new pairing of Julianne Lawton and Dane Edwards taking top honours with a superb nett score of 66.5.

A tie for second place followed closely behind, with both Merrin & Bernard Callaghan and Ticha Maichongwong & Ryan Medland carding excellent rounds of 67.125.

Annette Robinson and John Anthony also put in a strong performance with 67.5, but unfortunately their hopes were dashed by a pair of 7s over the closing holes. A spectacular downhill and cross-slope putt on the 18th wasn’t quite enough to lift them onto the podium.

🙌 Thank You!

Congratulations to all of today’s winners, and a heartfelt thank you to every player who took part. Events like the Jamberoo Mixed Open are what make our club special—great competition, great company, and a wonderful day on the course.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
