Comp News from the Course – 24 June

New Ambrose Course Planned.

Last Thursday an official from GolfNSW, Graeme Phillipson, and former Jamberoo captain David Ransom, on behalf of the Match Committee, inspected the course with the intent of setting up and rating a new ‘Gold’ course to be used by female players in Ambrose events. GolfNSW considered the present way we set up for Ambrose events unfair for female players not meeting the 85% standard set by GolfNSW for these mixed events.

The new course will be a par 67 and ratings will eventually be determined. This process is currently underway. GolfNSW offered to pay for the development of any new tees required.

This Sunday the new ‘gold course’ tees will be in play for female players in the Keno Ambrose. The red course daily handicaps will be used as the new ratings are yet to be presented by GolfNSW.
