Pam & Italo
Due to the overnight rain it has been decided to continue to allow “lift, clean and replace” on fairways until Monday afternoon.
Heaters Installed.
Just in time for the colder months some heaters have been installed on the verandah.
The work done by Mark Fisher and Glen Bayo installing the heaters is most appreciated.
Another Ace on the 9th.
Congratulations to Ron Chilby who managed to have an ace on the ninth last Wednesday. This is only the second ace this year at Jamberoo and both have been achieved on the ninth.
Great shot Ron.
This is Ron’s first hole-in-one at Jamberoo since I began keeping records in 2012 so well done to Ron.
Score Entry Touchscreen Computer is now working again.
Members are reminded that the small touch screen computer near the bar area is only to be used for score entry. Apparently on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning somebody used it for personal business and caused it to break down by unwittingly deleting some of its programs, like the score entry window.
Only authorised people are to switch it on or off. If it is not turned on to enter your scores just place your score card in the box. Don’t attempt to turn it on via the on/off switch.
It is not to be used for any purpose other than score entry.
Greens Meeting Minutes.
Greens Meeting Summary – May 5
Greenkeeper’s Report:
- Rainfall: April: 123.5 mm, 224 mm last year. 25mm this May so far; course is wet.
- 4th Green has been seeded and is responding fairly well; needs a few more weeks. Women’s Championships on 20th : unsure how green will be.
- Green Renovations are mainly completed; still some bare patches to be turfed. A few areas go off every year; NG will test soil to see what should be done.
- Mulcher is working and being kept under a tarpaulin; thanks to Rod for his help.
- Work on16th : About 600 m2 of turf plus sand underneath has been ordered to cover dirt areas before the green. New replacement timber for top of bridge before the 16th green has been ordered. Certifiers seems to have okayed everything, but Council has not issued official certification notice yet; PH’s initial research suggests 1.2 m high balustrade required. There may be other options (ditch, hedge etc.). What will happen with debris removed from dam which is currently piled to the S side of the 16th ? Unsure, but will be shaped when it dries out. Discussion of rules regarding entry to the dam area; we’ll need to keep players out for safety reasons. Bottom of retaining wall could be planted out.
- Agreed that stump grinding before the end of the membership year has been approved by the BOD and will be carried out on Friday 23rd and Friday 30th of May.
- The Greens Committee and the board Board approves purchasing two fountain aerators for the 16th and 17th dams.
Tree Work: BN: A reminder that Zac & TAFE students are booked for Wed 28th & Thurs 29th May to remove the liquidambars on the 2nd. Dead trees on 18 are to be removed. Treat damaged area around this area as GUR.
