Tuesday News from the Course

Stump Grinding.

by Bob Neilson

The stump grinding contractor is to work on the course on Friday 23rd May and Friday 30th May. He will be at the course for the two days and should finish all the stumps. There will be two more stumps once Zac has removed the liquidambars, and there may be more from dead trees that have been removed, but we can deal with these later as we wish. This is weather dependant, of course.

The stump grinding should not interfere with any comp days, but anyone playing socially should take extra care if they see work being done.

The contractor will be working all over the course, so it’s not worth preparing signs for individual holes, but a sign for the pro shop door. The starters know and will warn players to be careful.

He will be met at the course and is expected to move the grinder around the course with his Ute, but at this stage the club is unsure and not aware of the order in which he’ll do things. It will be suggested he start on holes 5 & 9.
