Jamberoo Kookaburras Celebrate.

A special presentation was made to the successful C Pennant team today in an end-of-season get-together. Each player was presented with a framed certificate and a special ball marker as permanent reminders of the wonderful success the team had this year.

Thanks to Glen Bayo for his cooking skills and to John Anthony for his barkeeping skills. Both kept the Kookaburras well fed and watered!

In an interesting coincidence a riot of Kookaburras greeted the C Pennant players as they played the 18th today showing their appreciation of their namesakes!

Not a Mud Slide Pat.
Today’s A grade monthly medalist Pat Paris put it all on the line today as he walked from the 16th green to the 17th tee. Taking a short cut across country Pat decided to go over the mounds of soil dredged from the lake.
Pat is not a mud runner apparently. Down to his knees he sank and it was with extreme difficulty he managed to extricate himself with his attire and shoes in a sorry state. His group and the following group were very concerned for Pat’s welfare as he struggled mightily to get out of that hole.
Much laughter was had after he escaped his dilemma and somehow he managed to birdie the 17th hole despite carrying an excess of mud!

In other Monthly Medal news the days best gross score was 76 by Dane Edwards showing how difficult the course was playing.
One person who had no trouble with the course was C Grade Medalist Windradyne Crockford who managed 1 net score of 55 off his 43 handicap. He is now off a much lower handicap!
In B Grade Greg Quigg was able to hold off the challenge from Wayne Griffiths and Mal Hoy to win the Medal.
Preferred lies back on for the next week.
Apparently quite a few groups were not aware that preferred lies had been removed for today’s round despite notices all over the shop, on the door and near the starters window. A few players DQ’d themselves when they found out while others just ignored that notice. Most played by the local rule of the day.
Please ensure you read all notices and temporary local rules before you commence play. If one of your group breaks one of these rules then inform them and request that their marker apply the penalty which is the general penalty of 2 shots.
Preferred lies next week, Monday to Wednesday
To make it clear, because of the wet, muddy conditions caused by overnight rain, next Monday to Wednesday there will be 15 cm preferred lies on the fairway. That means you can lift, clean and prefer your lie on fairways after first marking the position of the ball.
Some people do anything to get some free golf balls…. Hope you got heaps Pat…😂😂😂😂. And your lovely wife would have been real happy when you got home..😂😂😂Looks like John was enjoying the moment..
