Upcoming Events in May at Jamberoo

Our club has a packed golfing calendar scheduled for May. Get ready for an action-packed month with plenty of thrilling golf events you won’t want to miss.

The Womens Championship to be contested over 54 holes commencing on Tuesday 20th,

the Mens Veterans Championship and Winter Medal Day to be played with a shotgun start on May 11,

and the President vs Captain’s Stableford Matchplay are three that are standouts.

Plenty of fourball action as well with Best Balls, Aggregates and Multipliers due to be contested.

Don’t forget our special days sponsored by club sponsors, Drummond Golf and Just Bathrooms and the recommencement of our Mixed/Open Gender event on the last Sunday of the month. This event is always followed by a luncheon for the players.

Finally a special team event will be held on the last Saturday of the month with a 321 countdown – For the first 6 holes the best stableford score of the team is counted, for the next six holes the best 2 stableford scores are counted and for the final six, the best 3 scores are counted.

Pennant Winners to Receive Commemorative Ball Markers.

With two of our Pennant teams winning Pennants this year a special ball marker has been struck and will be presented to each player in recognition of their achievement.

Congratulations to the Women’s Silver Pennant team and the Men’s C Pennant team on their respective successes.

  1. Hi Dave
Why is the Vets Championship played as a shotgun start. I don’t see any other championships Men’s or ladies played as a shotgun start. Seem a bit unfair to play the major vets comp as a shotgun start.
    Cheers Craig

    1. Thanks for your comment Craig.
There are many good reasons to run the winter medal and championship as a shotgun start. The main one is that the champion can be acknowledged in front of his peers. The change of plan due to the TBMS is another. Another is that everybody gets to play in the same conditions. I think you will find that the final round of the mens club championship may well be in a similar format this year or perhaps in a seeded format just like the women are playing this year.
Lets give it a try and see how it turns out.
Good luck in the defence of your title.
